What a fun night! We had my side of the family and our dear friends the Groces (who we consider family) over for Chinese tonight. Apparently they all thought we had some news to share, I guess because we were having them all over at once! So when I brought out the Chinese boxes and handed them to everyone they all started saying "what is going on" and a few asked if I was pregnant. I said "just open your fortune cookies"! My brother got his open first and read it to everyone and they were all SO surprised and excited! My nieces, McKenna and Laurel were by far the most excited...they can't wait to babysit! My nephew Hunter (who is 5) said "now I am going to have to learn to talk Chinese"-so cute! The only "downer" of the night was sharing that it is an average of a 24-30 month process before our little girl will be home. I think it is hard for the kids to wrap their little minds around that amount of time, but we will just keep reminding them that she will be worth the wait!
Kevin's family also received their fortune cookies and all called to congratulate us as well! We are thrilled that some of the most important people in our lives finally know our BIG news!
WOW! Congrats! I am so excited for you. You have a great family to support you during this time. And you seem to be realistic as well. I will be praying for you. If you need anyone to talk to...I'll listen! Please keep us updated on your long journey. You are right...24-30 months is long... but sooooo worth it. That is nothing in God's eyes. He is molding your family to reflect His. ; )
I have chills...again. Everytime I think of you adopting it brings me that excited joy all over again. Wish I could've been a fly on the wall last night when your family heard the news. We love you guys so much and are soo thrilled that God has chosen you to care for one of His sweet little girls. We will be praying for your little Kamdynn..
HOOORAY! I just know how delightful my nephews are, and how their lives are complete before and after contrasts. I know you and your family will provide the love and support a new addition will need to grow and flourish. Congratulations on this exciting, wonderful news!
How wonderful and exciting! You know how I feel about little ones that need a loving family, you will be blessed in so many ways as our family has. I can't wait until the day our girls carry the family name and we can have a BIG celebration!!! It is worth however long it takes. God bless your family in this wonderful, exciting time! Can't wait to hold your new little one!
