Special Needs Application Approved!

Today we found out that our special needs application has been approved! This means we are now officially part of our agencies "Waiting Children Program." When we originally started our adoption process we were requesting a little girl age 0-8 months. When I submitted our application to be part of the Waiting Children program we changed it to 0-12 months. Come to find out 90% of the families in this program are requesting what we are, so our wait could still be awhile. After talking it over with Kevin we decided to change our request to 0-18 months. While I love the baby phase and selfishly want to share that with Kamdynn, I know we need to be open to what God wants for our family. Kevin said it well when he suggested that we up our age range to open up more opportunities to get matched with our little girl sooner. The fact of the matter is that God already knows Kamdynn so her age shouldn't be as big of a factor as I have been making it. She's going to be a GIRL and she is going to be OURS and that is all that matters! I tell you, it is amazing what God can open your heart up to over time! While this "wait" has been discouraging, it is our discouragement that has led us in this new direction and for that we are thankful.
