For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

Day 11-Guangzhou

After breakfast our entire group met in the lobby for group pictures (it was impossible to get a good one). This was our last chance to do this, because starting tomorrow families will begin to head home. We also got a picture with our guides, Linker and Amy and their daughter Beth. Assisting America World families is their only job and they are amazing at it. We have met some incredible people here and have created some lifelong friendships. After our group pictures we didn't have anything scheduled for the day so we decided to take a taxi to the Pearl Market, with our friends Jeff, Ali and baby Charley. This is a huge indoor/outdoor shopping area and we were on the hunt for North Face, but didn't have any luck. It was very crowded and hot and I'm pretty sure that we were the only Americans there. We found a McDonalds (I'll be okay if I never see a McDonald's again) and had lunch, it too was packed for a Tuesday afternoon and we are starting to wonder if people actually work around here. I had to jump in the middle of the street to finally get a taxi home and we made it back to our hotel just in time for Kamdynn's nap. She hasn't been feeling good...her eyes are glossy and she has a runny nose and she just wants to be held (which I am okay with). For dinner we met Jeff and Ali in the lobby to order Papa John's pizza. We ended up waiting almost an hour for it so we visited with friends and Kamdynn walked (holding my hands) for a long time. She is still unsteady, but can take a few steps on her own. She loves to walk! When our pizza came we found a fun spot to eat it in our hotel and we were all happy that it tasted just like back home. Kamdynn ate ALL the crust from ALL twelve slices! After dinner we took Kamdynn swimming again and now we are about to call it a night. Four more days and counting...we are ready to be HOME!
