Day 9-Guangzhou

As of today we are about half way through our trip! We are having a great time, but we are anxious to get home. We are really missing the boys and when we talk to them we can tell they miss us...especially Kaleb (he always wants to know how many more days). They are having a great time with Aunt Colleen and family. Konner was so excited to show us the rock monster lego he got, but didn't want to chat because he wanted to work on it (this was at 11:00 at night). They are in good hands and we are thankful!
Today we went to the Guangdong Folk Arts Museum. I'm not one to typically appreciate art, but there were many interesting carvings, sculptures and paintings on display. After our time there we went to the store to buy a few things. Our guides took us to a 7-story shopping center that was beautiful. It was hard to hold back from buying all the cute clothes! So far we are finding that things aren't as "cheap" in China as we'd thought. We looked into having a suit made for Kevin and it was going to cost over $1,000. Our hotel doesn't have washers and dryers so we sent our clothes out to be cleaned and they were just returned to us with a bill for $55.00 (this was for about 2 loads of laundry).
We all took a nap this afternoon...this heat really wears you out. I think if we ever return to China again we will come in the Fall to avoid it...it is unbearable at times. For dinner we met up with some other families to go to an Italian Restaurant. A family in our group is here for their third adoption and they recommended the restaurant and it was the best meal I've had yet! Our cab ride there and back was so scary it was almost humorous. I had Kevin video some of our ride home...it would blow you away. Ali, a Mom from Tennessee was sitting next to me praying the entire time and we were all laughing so hard. The driving here is CRAZY and we have come inches from being in several accidents (with Kamdynn sitting on our lap). She is going to be in shock when she has to actually sit in a car seat!
Kamdynn is doing great! Kevin is watching International basketball with her and explaining it to her like she understands what he is saying. We are both head over heals for this little girl and we are pretty sure she feels the same way about us. She has a great sense of humor and gives Kevin little charity laughs all the time. She has learned to sign "more" and pats me when I say "where's Mama." She is such a blessing.
