For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

Day 13-Still in Guangzhou

Today was our Oath Ceremony at the U.S. Consulate and it was a very finalizing moment for us. It was impossible to hold back the tears of joy as we repeated the oath in a room filled with nearly 100 other people doing it with us. It was a moment that I wish I could have documented (like the rest of our journey), but the U.S. Consulate does not allow cameras, so we will just have to hold onto the memory of it. The lady leading the oath ceremony recognized all of the children's birthdays in August, including Levi from our group who will be turning 14 this month. His adoption is extra special because at age 14 orphans are on their own in China, but he doesn't have to worry about that because he has a FAMILY! It is hard to believe that the U.S. Consulate in China processes 1/3 of the WORLDS adoptions-WOW!
After our Oath Ceremony we finished our day/night back on Shamian Island for dinner at Lucy's and a little more shopping. Jordan, a Christian man that owns a souvenir shop on the island, painted Kamdynn's name in English and Chinese. We learned that her name means, Treasure and Graceful...so sweet and fitting.
Tomorrow is a day of packing and we are looking forward to receiving Kamdynn's visa so that we can finally go HOME! We will take a 3 hour bus ride to Hong Kong, where we will arrive in the evening (long enough to sleep) and then we fly HOME the next morning. We were so excited to count down the days before we headed to China and now we are counting down the days until we are HOME...2 more to go!
